Sprague Library
If you are Bloomfield College student who wishes to reserve a study space at Sprague Library, please call the front desk at 973-655-4288 or inquire at the front desk.
Silent and Quiet Study Space
There are large silent and quiet study spaces on the upper level of the Library, overlooking Cole Hall (south end) and along the wall opposite the library Dean’s office.
An additional Silent Study space is on the Lower Level in the R-Z book area.

Event Spaces
Room 021 is a media classroom that seats up to 32 attendees. This space must be booked at least 3 business days in advance.
Group Study Rooms
Group Study Rooms are located on the upper and lower levels.
- Group Study Rooms are intended for Â鶹Ai»»Á³ University students, faculty and staff working on academic activities.
Collaborative Spaces
The Library has six collaborative spaces that are available for students, faculty and staff to work on group assignments, media projects (using Adobe Creative Suite and other provided software), and/or video conference with other individuals.
- Rooms 027, 028, and 029 are equipped with: a Sony 4K 65 inch flat screen TV with remote control, whiteboard, Polycom camera, and tabletop Crestron controller pad with Air Media.
- The Creative Collaboration Pod and Group Study Pods are equipped with: a Sony 4K 55 inch monitors with remote control, whiteboard walls, and power outlets with UBS ports
Viewing Rooms
The Library has four viewing rooms for viewing videotapes and DVDs or for group study. These rooms are small and may be used by 1 – 4 students.
Listening Rooms
The Library has four soundproof listening rooms for listening to CDs, cassettes or LP records. These rooms are small and may be used by 1 – 3 students.
Commuter Study Space
The Commuter Study Space is a large, bright and inviting room on the south wing of the first floor of the Library.
- The Commuter Study Space has newer furniture, lots of outlets, a large group study table, and some height adjustable tables and is located near the Print and Laptop Lending Lab, and the Center for Academic Success and Tutoring (CAST).
The Sensory Space
The Sensory Space a unique space on campus designed specifically to be welcoming to neurodivergent individuals. Located in Room 030 on the lower level of Sprague Library in the Multimedia area, The Sensory Space is designed to create a safe, comfortable environment for individuals with particular sensory needs. Features include:
- Privacy Study Chairs: Three acoustically insulated privacy chairs are available for work, study or relaxation. Each chair has an integrated, moveable desk, dedicated work lamp with adjustable brightness, noise-canceling headphones, and multiple outlets for charging personal devices.
- Lounge Chairs: Two fleece lined bucket-style lounge chairs can be used for work or relaxation. Each chair has a matching footrest, dedicated work lamp with adjustable brightness, noise-canceling headphones, and multiple outlets for charging personal devices.
- Yoga Mats and Cushions: Several yoga mats are available for meditation, yoga, or floor seating. These can be combined with floor cushions to create a comfortable floor seating position.
- Noise-canceling Headphones: Headphones can help to block out ambient noise and provide sound isolation from adjoining spaces. In addition to noise cancelation, you can plug them into your personal device with an auxiliary port to listen to music and other media.
- Fidget Toys: Several fidget toys are kept in the yoga mat storage cart. These objects can help you relax, focus, and generally provide positive stimulation.
This study space can be booked for a maximum of two hours.

This room is for faculty use. It contains a desktop computer, white board, large screen monitor, and Zoom capability.
